My job requires me to provide a quality fitting/machining service within THORP and associated Operating Units in support of production projects, breakdowns, safety issues and quick response tasks to meet business needs to an agreed standard.

In Low Active Effluent Management Group (LAEMG) we deal with historic liquid waste whilst at the same time treat effluent in support of the key operations on the Sellafield Site. Everyday is a challenge, you become used to dealing with the unexpected especially when treating some of the historic effluent.
I have the privilege of working within a great team of people who all work really well together.
I am a Contract Specialist in Procurement, based at our Risley site location. I am responsible for major Business Travel related contracts and the overall management of Business Travel and Travel Policy. I have worked for the company for 27 years and enjoy my role and find each day challenging.

Alan helps to run a small childrens charity called Northern Lights who raise money for children 6-10 yrs old with life limiting illnesses, and arrange a “Holiday of a Lifetime” to Lapland at Christmas. Over 400 children have been to Lapland in the 20 years we have been running.

I have 27 years experience of working for the company starting life as a BNFL Mechanical apprentice at Risley. I have spent the last 17 years on the Sellafield site.
My current role is Head of Delivery, Legacy Ponds and Silos charged with the Clean Up of a number of high hazard legacy facilities on the site.
Working for the company has given me an opportunity to work on some of the most challenging issues currently facing the Nuclear Industry in the UK. A real opportunity to make a difference on something so important. I Love the team spirit and the buzz and excitement as we make each little step closer to dealing with the Nuclear Legacy at Sellafield.

Over the last six years I have learnt valuable experience from disposing of waste correctly to implenting new and more efficient methods. I transferred to Special Chemistry; the work is exciting and varied. Never knowing what our team will have to analyse next, from seagulls or rock samples we have the procedures in place to deal with almost any type of radiological analysis. Challenging job which I place great pride in.

I am a Contract Support Officer working on the Contract between the NDA and Sellafield Ltd for the Management and Operation of the site. This mainly entails ensuring that we meet our contractual obligations to the NDA.
I first worked for the company as an undergraduate in 2000 and after graduating as a Process Engineer in 2002, joined the Company's Graduate Management Training Scheme. I am fortunate to be employed by a company that is interested in the welfare of its staff and encourages and supports its staff to develop their experience and skill base. The company has also supported my development outside the workplace as I now work 4 days a week which allows me to spend more time playing the role which I love the most, i.e. being a Mum.

I started my career as an Electrical and Instruments apprentice, I have trained and progressed to become the Team Leader of the team I originally started with. I am responsible for both mechanical and electrical craftspeople. I train new starters and apprentices as well as develop people in their role. I am lucky enough to run the Environmental Project at Yottenfews where schools can visit for the day to enjoy learning about the outdoors. Many of the youngsters will one day work on the Sellafield Site, and a day at Yottenfews hopefully leaves them with exciting experiences. Many of the children comment on the fact that a member of their family, or a friend, works on Site.
